Yin is mindful, functional practice targeting joints, connective tissues and energy lines. Yin opens the body, purifies the body, removing toxins, cultivates the free flow of vital Qi-energy, and calms the mind.
Passive, long-held floor poses are held, the muscles are relaxed targeting the lower body and spine, mobilizing joints, stressing the connective tissues and stimulating energy channels- the meridians. Yin is based on principles of Taoist concepts of yin and yang, Traditional Chinese Medicine, meridian-organ-theory, seasons, and mindfulness. The classes use props and are built with specific sequences that combine functional, energetic and mental levels. It is a good complement to more active forms of yoga and to reducing stress. Yin balances the nervous system, and is a journey to increased self-knowledge.
